Course Structure

Junior Learn to Sail consists of 5 sessions through Term 4 of 2024.
Every session time is 9.00am - 11.30 pm on Sunday mornings.

The Introductory and Intermediate courses will be conducted at the same time by different instructors

Course Costs

Registration Fee: $150 (Payable upon acceptance into the program)

Once the program has commenced, the club will not be able to refund the course fee in the event that the sailor is unable to participate in the program. 

How to Register

This course has a minimum age of 8 and max of 15 years.

Please note that each program is limited to 12 participants, If interest is high we will seek to run more programs

Course Overview

The Introductory course introduces participants to the fundamental skills of dinghy sailing, terminology, equipment and with practical hands on learning including launching and returning to shore and of course sailing!

The Intermediate course expands participants learnings from the introductory level, with the goal to have particpants compete in the clubs Sunday Green Fleet racing by the conclusion of the course.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident and for intermediate course prior participation in an introductory course

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin and/or extend their skills sailing in a dinghy.

What to bring for the course?

Please bring along sunscreen, hat and suitable clothing ie wetsuit or quick dry shirts and shorts, SLYCMS will provide lifejackets and the boat.
